Project created during Jamm'In, the first edition of the game jam organized by the Lyon Ynov Campus: 48 hours non-stop, 5 teams of 6, 30 participants, guided by mentors in art, game design, programming, and narrative design. The assigned theme: “Start Over to Move Forward.”
RE:KINDLE is a third-person narrative and atmospheric experience. The player takes on the role of a character lost in a labyrinthine warehouse plunged into total darkness, a metaphor for a psyche on the brink of collapse. The goal: to rediscover vital mechanisms and, step by step, reignite the circuits of an exhausted consciousness. As the light returns, the oppression dissipates and the warehouse transforms into a serene city. An anxiety gauge watches in the background: spend too much time in the dark, and the mental fog takes over. The player can cover their eyes to respawn, then increase the ambient brightness to uncover additional information available only by restarting. The heart of the game is the visual shift: moving, level by level, from total darkness to absolute clarity. It is this contrast that drives the narrative, no dialogue, no tutorial, just the environment.
Gameplay programming in Unreal Engine 5 (Blueprint and C++), working alongside Benjamin Souleau and Thibaud Sellier. Contributions to interaction systems, dynamic lighting, level state transitions, respawn mechanics, the two powers, and animations.

A game jam is less of a coding sprint and more of a coordination exercise: translating a strong artistic vision into playable systems, constantly negotiating the scope, and shipping a stable build before the deadline. It’s 48 intense hours that force you to keep things simple, make quick decisions, and trust the team. A short but comprehensive project, from prototype to final build, including learning Unreal from scratch !
